15733920 - a boy full of question

One of the biggest and most courageous thing every entrepreneur needs to know is his/her BIG WHY.

And it’s not the first time I’ve been prompted to figure out my WHY for my business.

But now, it’s even more so crucial for me to figure out my WHY right now because…

  1. I’m down to teaching ONE class at the local university for a multitude of reasons which I don’t want to get into now
  2. The time has come for me to start growing my business EXPONENTIALLY so that I don’t pass another month with ZERO in my business bank account. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!

The not-so-encouraging news is — there is NO real shortcut to figuring out your why because each WHY is very individual and customized.

What the heck happens if you DON’T figure out your WHY:

Well, nothing at first, but if you just do the same-ol,’ eventually…

  1. You operate from default mode. (And that’s where fear and doubt start showing up)
  2. You aren’t always aware of working from a place of service

Even if you’re not in the business to grow your business like I am driven to right now, you still need to figure out your WHY.

Why are you on this earth?

Why are you doing the kind of work you are doing now (and not something else?)

Why are you living the way you are now?

I’ll be honest with you: figuring out my WHY earlier today was downright scary.

I had to start re-evaluating things in my life that weren’t working and that felt uncomfortable.

My brain wanted to see a certain outcome arise.

I kept saying to myself, “this sounds like everyone else!”

Boy, did I try hard to avoid sounding like everyone else!

To get to the sweet spot of my New BIG WHY, I had to tune into the following:

  1. Get silent (Turn off ALL social media and email channels to avoid all that noise)
  2. Breathe and stay present
  3.  Repeat #1 and #2 as often as needed

This takes COURAGE. Massive amounts of it because you’re about to change something in your life that has been familiar. It’s always easy to stick to what you know.

You’ll continue to get knocked down with fear and self-doubt, and when you do, you’ll always be able to revisit your BIG WHY. Because that is going to be your motivator on the dark days.

Because THAT applies to everyone – whether you’re an author, speaker, entrepreneur, visionary, parent. Everyone’s got to know his/her WHY.

What do y’all think? (Each word was lovingly handpicked to communicate the vibration and intense energy I feel right now to reinvent myself in a way that will bring forth HUGE changes in my life.

WHY #1. I am deeply compelled to help entrepreneurs and small business owners show up with courage (and take out the fear) in the way they marketing themselves first and second, in their way they give voice to how they passionately connect with their clients so that the space between themselves and their clients isn’t dominated by fear and self-doubt.

WHY #2. I am deeply motivated to replace a HUGE monthly chunk of teaching income by finding at least THREE new clients each month so I can feed my family with grace and ease with the goal of putting money away each month for my son’s college education and Bar-Mitzvah.

Can’t you tell I’m a Scooby Doo Fan? Or a 70’s child who got lost somewhere along the way? (see photo to the right)

Because you can’t have fun if you’re always thinking about how qualified you are to do some of this content marketing. Which is hugely important to everyone including authors.

Each and every one of us has unique gifts we bring to the table. But we shut them down because we don’t think we’re qualified enough to know what we’re talking about. This is not how we build a community.

We’ll be connecting about our WHYS and what makes us tick and how we use content to build our business.

Side note: you do not have to have written a book to be a part of this group, no way, Jose.

Feeling like you’re not “qualified enough” is complete and utter BULLSHIT! (There, I’ve said it. Go ahead and shoot me down.)

The purpose of this group is to support you in the way you show up and give voice to your content so that the space between yourself and your potential peeps isn’t intimidating and at the end of the day, you’re not filled with doubt and fear.

We’ll be sharing and learning from each other’s content, brands and tried and tested tips and tricks we’ve used to make a heartfelt connection with our peeps.

So go ahead, and join.

It’ll be groovy! Promise.  I’ve got a few groovy tricks up my sleeves – okay, enough with the grooviness.

Click here to join the group. It’s free.  It’s Groovy!
