24042589 - inspirational motivating quote on old grunge paper

I’m writing now inspirational memoir – the sequel to Accidental Soldier and I’m finding it to be a lot less stressful.

Like you, I knew that I had a valuable message to share with the world. And like you, I struggled to get my book out of my head and onto book shelves.

Instead of shamelessly and unapologetically, making serious headway, I found myself surrounded with my dear friends: yes, hello “fear” and “self-doubt!”

In retrospect, working with a book writing coach made all the difference for me, enabling me to stop spinning my wheels and realize my dream of publishing my book. But it would take a long time to finally muster the courage to to get clear of the muck of fear and self-doubt each time they would surface.

I thought that my fertile and creative imagination would get me through any obstacle, any problem. But here I was sitting in front of your computer, frozen, wondering what to write and where to start. Each starting point was unnerving.

So on that note, do any of these situations sound like you?

  • You have tried again and again to complete your book, but the doubts have overwhelmed you
  • You have the words in your head, but you can’t seem to carve out the time to focus and make it happen
  • You have so many ideas that you can’t quite organize them into a cohesive story
  • You know that you need help, guidance and support, but you’re not sure where to find it

When we think we’re making headway, we find ourselves suddenly getting sucked.  When we think we don’t need guidance and support, we struggle figuring it out on our own but again, we find ourselves on the “stuck” path.

Writing a book can be a lonely journey and stressful in its own way, but in all honesty, all writers need a rooting team to help clarify a lot of information – not just the HOW, but also the WHY part of the question.

TYPES of the BIG WHY questions:

1.WHY are you drawn to writing this kind of book or telling that particular story to brand your business? What will it do for your business or author platform?

2. WHY are you drawn to writing or telling SUBJECT X or STORY X? Again, what will it do for your business or author platform?

Do you see what’s happening here?

Your BIG WHY is NOT just a goal, but the reason WHY you are having trouble staying focused.

Simon Sineck, author of What’s Your Why? makes a strong case for clarifying your BIG WHY.

“Working hard for something we don’t care about is called stress; working hard for something we love is called passion.”

And if we can put this in the context of writing a book, your BIG WHY = YOUR PASSION for WHY you are writing that book. Or, why you are drawn to that book or story what you are writing.

And getting clear on that BIG why can lead you to profits. Not just using your business to increase visibility and get more clients, but also it strengthens the relationship with your PASSION.

Trust me, if you don’t feel passionate about the subject or story you are writing about, then why write that “dream book” in the first place?

Just because you think it’s supposed to do what you want it to, doesn’t mean, it’s what you are meant to be doing?

Together, we’ll get clear on your BIG WHY and what kind of story or book you’re truly meant to be writing about in the “Giving Voice to your Courage Mastery Writing Circle.”

1.Because it takes courage to be passionate when there’s so much noise.

2.Because it takes courage to feel connected to your purpose when it comes to writing a book.

3.Because passion doesn’t SHOW UP in the way you think it does and it FEELS different for everyone especially when it comes to writing a book.
